34 New York landmarks. 120 artifacts. 150 years of culture and education. Cultivating Culture tells the story of each member of the Cultural Institutions Group, a coalition of institutions across the five boroughs that help cement New York’s status as the cultural capital of the world. Our collaboration with The Museum of the City of New York exhibits an astonishing collection of images and objects—from the Met’s 1870 original founding to a contemporary painting by sea lions at the Bronx Zoo—that brings the history of the city’s cultural riches to life.
Cultivating Culture: 34 Institutions that Changed New York is on view at the Museum of the City of New York until February 8.
