Marching On

Highlighting cultural expression and political protest in NYC

Brand, Campaign, Environments

Collaborators: Bryony Roberts, Mabel O. Wilson, The Marching Cobras

Marching On, a series of performances and events commissioned by Storefront for Art and Architecture for Performa 17, explores the history and contemporary context of marching and organized performance. Since the early 1900s, marching bands have been powerful forms of cultural expression and political protest for African-Americans. Inspired by the performers’ movements and bold, percussive sound, we designed the visual identity and promotional matter for the series and subsequent exhibition.
