“Once–Future Office helped us navigate an unwieldy mapping project, resulting in a playful, clear, and comprehensive overview of projects brought to life by women in the built realm. Their process was impressively precise; every detail thoughtfully considered without ever feeling rigid.”

BACKGROUND
Built by Women is an annual program that shines a light on the women architects, engineers, contractors, landscape architects, and developers transforming the built environment nationally. This program focuses on our hometown, New York City. Our identity and collateral uses a vibrant color palette and bold folding motif that celebrate the impact of these women-led projects. At the center of the campaign is a take-home map representing all five boroughs of New York. Designed to function as both a navigational guide and keepsake poster, the map carefully organizes nearly 50+ entries into a standard map size that is legible at street level yet clear at a glance. Inspired by the geometry of the Built by Women hexagonal logo, the folds extend throughout the digital and physical elements of the campaign. As surfaces meet, overlap, and reveal new information, the motif reflects the program’s intersectional mission.
“Once–Future kept everything moving with an easy, organized rhythm, making a complex undertaking feel surprisingly fluid, collaborative, and joyful.”
